According to the claim on Marktplaats (Dutch Craigslist) this 1992 Daihatsu Opti was actually a show car for the 1992 Leipzig Auto Show:
The car has been shipped from Japan to Leipzig to be shown to the public. Apparently the public didn’t like it that much and the Opti never made it to Europe.
The car was never shipped back to Japan and put in storage somewhere in Europe and recently came back to the surface:
Now this is your chance to own a unique car!
The Opti was built upon the Daihatsu Mira L200 platform (as know as the Cuore in Europe), meaning it was a kei car featuring a 659cc 12 valve engine under the bonnet. I don’t expect high power output from this engine though.
Then its main selling point: this car only drove 66 kilometer in its entire life!
And naturally its interior is immaculate:
It even features a sunroof and aircon, so you don’t have to worry about summertime. ;)
So think about it: you could be a celebrity like Rie Miyazawa in this ad:
There is no reserve set, but the highest bid is already at 1600 euros! If you would like to buy this unique car you can find it here

Wow, this would be the perfect daily car for me! I love weird Kei cars!
I would loved to have bought it as well, but for me it is too impractical and I don’t drive daily…
