Japanese rustoseums (part eightteen)

Time for a bit more rust on the blog! This time a bunch of abandoned kaido racers: a Toyota Crown MS125, Nissan Leopard F30 and a Nissan Skyline C210.

Let’s kick off with the Crown:

Once a major icon of the whole kaido racer scene, but nowadays just sitting around in a grassy field…

The Leopard appears to be quite complete:

However the wider FRP front fenders are unpainted and contrast with the rest of the car. Perhaps an abandoned project when the kaido racers got out of fashion in Japan?

Last, but not least, the Skyline C210:

It blends nicely with the rubbiish around, but actually this kaido racer is a real piece of art: it has custom widened fenders, swapped (double square) headlights, a big spoiler on the trunk and some yellow bamboo spears sticking out meters behind the rear of the car. And I’m sure I’ve seen it on one of the pictures on my harddisk before…

Japanese rustoseums (part seventeen)

I’ll try to post as much Carina related stuff this week as possible, so be prepared for some overload of Carina goodness! Let’s kick off with some Carina rustoseums!

For starters I found this little 3A powered SG coupe rusting away on someones blog:

A small detail: the Carina sits on a set of Celica A40 rims.

This Carina TA67 wagon looks like an old delivery van. With the writing on its side it looks like what the Fujiwara Tofu Carina TA67 must have looked like:

Of course the 2T engine did not have enough power by itself, so naturally he would have swapped it for a 2T-G or 3T-GT. :D

Speaking about rusty vans. how about another TA67?

It was found near Rausu. This one really looks bad and way beyond repair.

I was a bit shocked when I spotted this zenki four door Nissan Skyline RS-Turbo DR30 rustoseum:

How can you leave such a great car rust away in a barn yard?
Judging from the camber on the rear wheels the rear springs were removed when somebody already scavenged it for parts.

Just as bad as the skyline, a Nissan Cherry X-1R:

The Cherry even still got its extemely expensive tail lights in place. It is a wonder nobody scavenged them yet! :o

What about some foreign rustoseums? A crusty second generation Chevrolet Camaro and an immaculate Renault 4:

Personally I would rather have seen the reverse of that…

Next time I’ll post up some rustoseums from The Netherlands I found earlier this week.

DOTS: Nissan 200SX S14 in fall (the end?)

Down on the street on Thursday? Why?
Because it is a sad day for the Nissan 200SX S14 rustoseum:
Nissan 200SX pushing the daisies
Nissan 200SX pushing the daisies

The 200SX passed on! This car is no more! He has ceased to be! The S14 expired and gone to meet his maker! He is a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! He be pushing up the daisies! HIs metabolic processes are now history! He is off the twig! He’s kicked the bucket, He’s shuffled off ‘is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin’ choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-CAR!!
* sorry for misuse of the dead parrot sketch *

When I returned to take beautiful fall pictures of the S14 yesterday it had vanished. As you can see the dead leafs even cover the spot where it once stood:
Nothing but dead leafs
Nothing but dead leafs

I checked the RDW (Dutch license plate registration) to see if it was now re-registered by someone else, but its entry has been removed from there meaning it is no longer a valid registration. That can either mean it has been sold off to some foreigner or has ended up at some junkyard. I fear for the latter…

DOTS: Nissan 200SX S14 in fall (part II)

Last week I realized I haven’t posted about the Nissan 200SX S14 rustoseum since the end of March. Would it still be there?
Yes it is still there:

Nissan 200SX S14 in October 2010

It is only the beginning of fall, so not many leafs are on it yet…

But the low sun gives a great opportunity to shoot pictures like this:
Nissan 200SX S14 in October 2010
Nissan 200SX S14 in October 2010

A bit dark and gloomy looking S14! ;)

Summer didn’t do the car much good either, just take a look at this:
Nissan 200SX S14 in October 2010
Nissan 200SX S14 in October 2010

It is not only birdcrap that is on there, there is also mold on the steeringwheel. You will have to focus on the top of the steeringwheel to actually see it… I’ll take my manual lenses with me next time to be able to capture the mold better.

Also the left mirror has been smashed now:

That means the same thing as with the Legend: things will only get worse from now on. :(

I’ll see if I can shoot some pictures of the car covered in leafs upcoming weeks. Would be cool to compare with last years picture. :P
