DOTS: Nissan 200SX S14 end of winter

Just realized I haven’t posted the Nissan 200SX S14 for a while, so here are some recent pictures of this rustoseum:

Yes, it is still there… And the car is getting a better stance every day since the tires are getting flatter and flatter…

Even people start using it to write dirty car graffiti on its rear window!

The winter time was very harsh for this car! It is rusting so badly I already start calling it a rustoseum…

WTF: US Nissan Pulsar, 200SX and 300ZX commercial

This 1987 US Nissan commercial was posted by Reich and it clearly illustrates why cars and Flashdance don’t match:

WTF were the Nissan executives thinking in the 80s? Apart from the fact that flashdance and cars don’t match it is also weird to have such a commercial in the late 80s when flashdance was clearly out of fashion. Now if they would have come up with the Lambada it might actually have caught the attention of the teenagers. ;)

DOTS winter edition: Nissan 200SX S14 covered in snow!

Two days ago it started snowing in the Netherlands, so of course I had to take pictures of some of the cars I covered before. I had to wait till yesterday before I could make some pictures of the Nissan 200SX S14 covered in snow.

Funny how this S14 turns out to have the looks of a S14a when covered in snow! The headlights are now less round and appear to be sloping up a bit!

I couldn’t tell anything about the state of the car since it was covered in snow. But I don’t think these few inches of snow will do any good to the uncovered parts.

I also decided not to try to get hold of the car: I don’t think another project will do me any good. ;)

Tomorrow we have *another* DOTS winter edition with a few snow covered Miatas!

DOTS: Nissan 200SX S14 in fall

And we have arrived at part 4 of the deteriorating 200SX!
The Nissan 200SX S14 in November
The Nissan 200SX S14 in November

It is currently in a very beautiful state with all those leafs on and around it!

Now the car really starts to intrigue me! Its condition gets worse and worse and apparently nobody really cares for it… Could it be that the car itself now is in the fall of its life?

Well, at least the rust didn’t get any worse than last month:

And some of the blisters disappeared magically…

The note I left some time ago has disappeared and I found this stuck behind the door:

So either the owner removed the note and this note is new or some secondhand dealer removed my note and tuck this behind the door instead! I suspect the latter is the most probable case… :(

DOTS: Even more scruffy looking Nissan 200SX S14

When I started with the Down on the Streets series I posted the Scruffy looking Nissan 200SX S14 in the second feature. Back then I wrote that there was a lot of moss growing under it and the paint was falling off the bumper… Those first pictures were taken in june, so I stopped by the car early september and things got worse:

There were already a lot of leafs and dirt on the car: not very shocking.

What was shocking was this:

The paint starts to get blisters all over the car and falls off on other parts as well!

Let’s zoom in on that passenger door:

Currently only surface rust so it can still be repaired.

And the boot wasn’t much better than the passenger door…

So of course I paid a visit early October to see how bad things got now:

Even more leafs and dirt on the car!

What about the passenger door then?

Rust didn’t get any worse than before, however more blisters can be seen on the door…

And the boot?

Same story as the door: rust didn’t get worse but the amount of blisters did…

To prevent this car from getting worse I left a note on the car but haven’t received any answer yet. Will try again soon! ;)

DOTS: Scruffy looking Nissan 200SX S14

This bone stock Nissan 200SX (JDM name is of course Silvia S14) was parked from time to time outside the office building where I work. Just like the Celica Supra MA61 of last week it disappeared after a while.

More than half a year later I found it on the other side of town, badly parked under a tree and growing moss under it:

As you can see it has been parked here for ages!

In the meantime it must have gotten some damage either through being parked here or hitting something before because the left sidelight is now fitted badly (rightside of the picture):

The paint was already a bit bad when it was parked outside the office, but it only got worse:

The paint literally falls of the bumper now… Well, it is not that bad: the bumper can’t rust. ;)

I tried to capture the enormous amount of garbage in it, but I failed… All you can see is the crap on the outside
A lot of crap on the windshield
A lot of crap on the windshield

But believe me: there was a lot of fast-food wraps and stuff lying in it…

The funny thing is that the police did not tow away the car yet… You are not allowed to park your car within a radius of 4 meters from the corner of a street. The Nissan is clearly parked about 2 meters away from the corner. Ah well, it is probably the neighborhood: streets and corners are wide, so nobody is bothered with an ill parked 200SX.
