Wangan Warriors meeting 10: it was a bit misty

As said in the first impressions posting: it was misty…
To give you an impression, it was this misty:
It is quite misty out there!
On the positive side it could theoretically be beneficial for taking photos at a smaller diaphragm without losing the depth of field. Unfortunately mist also means there is less light, so I had great difficulty to go higher than 5.6 on one of my lenses…

But this photo of a white Sil80 is a good example of that effect: Continue reading

What car did this Levin borrow its grille from?

It is always nice to see owners mix and match parts from other cars. In this case this Levin is a mix and match of a kouki Levin (eyebrows on the headlights and bumper with wrap around indicator lights) and some grille I’ve seen before…

Now where did I see that before?? Is it from another E80 Corolla? Can’t remember the E80 ever had such a grille…

Ebay treasures: Almost new red panda Levin AE86!

Okay this Toyota Corolla Levin AE86 isn’t entirely new and it surely is not for sale on Ebay (actually on Goo-net), but it only drove 36k kilometers so far! If that’s not an Ebay-treasure, I’ll eat my shoe!

This Levin was definitely cherished by its first owner and later on restored in full glory by it seller Carland86. Carland86 is famous for their immense inventory of AE86-es that all are in excellent condition!

WTF: Trampio Trueno AE86 replica?

This is a real WTF?! In my brains the words Trampio and Levin are connected like fire and smoke, so how come this Trueno is featuring the Trampio livery then?
Trampio Sprinter Trueno AE86 replica
First of all the Trampio Levin AE86 never featured the N2 flares since it never competed in the N2 series, so it can’t be the original.

Second of all there was no Trampio Trueno AE86, only the Levin… Continue reading

Family Album Treasures: the Levin brothers

Back in the early 00s when I tried to convince my friend Mux to buy a hachi my idea was to buy the same one as he did. This photo reminds me a bit of that era:
The Levin brothers
Two friends buying the same car, modifying it in the exact same way.
For Mux and me it worked out a bit differently: he bought a zenki Levin in metalic blue (colorcode 8A9) and I bought a zenki Trueno in silver grey.
