DOTS: Cars with identity crisis

Sometimes you come across cars with some form of identity crisis. It is easy to spot the obvious like a rebadged Mitsubishi Lancer as an EVO VI or something like that. But sometimes you can come across cars that think they are actually from another brand, just like this Honda Civic EG thinking it is a Mazda MX3:
Honda Civic EG MX3
Honda Civic EG MX3

Wait? What’s that? A MX3??

According to these fake stick on chrome letters it is a MX3:

And the owner actually knows he is driving a Honda Civic since he also stuck that on the hatch as well!

Another one with identity crisis is this Nissan Navara (aka Hardbody Truck in the US):

The owner clearly owns a VW Type 2 T3 van so maybe the ornament of the VW mysteriously traded places? Or maybe a silent wish of the owner?? Or maybe he was inspired by my posting about a Nissan 720 pickup with a similar identity crisis! ;)
The car is not a Nissan Navara but a VW Taro (rebadged Toyota Hilux)!

DOTS: Honda Civic Mk4 with bullet holes

After last weeks rusty Civic it is time for another Civic:

I noticed something was odd about this fourth generation Civic. It was not the fact that it was powered by the 1.5 liter D15B, nor that it was another automatic… I noticed it had some weird unfamiliar damage on the windshield…

Looking up close:

WTF!? Bullet holes??
Note that guns are not for sale in the Netherlands. They are uncommon and can not be obtained unless you got a license and permit to carry one! Or have 500 bucks and the right connections of course! ;)

As you can see there are at least nine of them on the windshield! The driverseat was covered with a blanket and the car was parked on the outskirts of town, so I presume he/she got shot.

So, why was this car parked here? If the police was involved they probably towed the car away and put it in storage for investigation… Maybe that’s what they did: next time I passed that spot a couple of days later the car was gone…

DOTS: Honda Civic, Prelude and Hyundai Scoupe

On the first day of my vacation I woke up in the apartment of my parents in law, walked outside on the balcony and had this view:

Normally I would not have bothered with those two cars: they are too new, not my style and certainly not anything near I post on my blog normally. But when I looked better I also spotted this car parked near the other two:

So I grabbed my camera and took some pictures before they were gone. (???)

The Civic had received a big kiss from another car in its passenger door, but the picture I took from it doesn’t look great, so I discarded that one.

And I also made this shot of all three together:

For sale: Really cheap Honda Civic 4th gen 1.3 Luxe

The car has is a 4th generation Honda Civic with aftermarket alloy wheels, sports exhaust and hatch spoiler. The red color has faded just a little bit, but it should be no problem for future owners to get its initial bright red color back:

It was always parked in a really nice and quiet neighborhood (Rotterdam Charlois), so no parking damage or dents:

And as you can see the sports exhaust is still like new:

And only a small vermin problem:

Car is located in Spuikade Rotterdam and can be visited anytime. ;)
Price: 5000 euros (with vermin) or ONO

Pictures are made by Keet Moves and RTV Rijnmond

For those people who can’t read Dutch: the street this car is parked in suffers from a plague of rare caterpillars. The public services of Rotterdam refuse to do anything about it because the caterpillars will disappear within 4 weeks anyway. Apparently this car is the first victim of the caterpillars.
