Now this Nissan 720 pickup surely has an identity crisis:
Nissan 720 Datsun VW pickup
Now is that a Nissan, a Datsun or a VW? :D
Of course the Japanese love, just like us, the foreign brands more than their own. ;)

Remembering Japanese cars from the past

Now this was a huge laugh for me: the Dekochari!
Dekotora is an abbreviation for Decoration Truck (Torakku). Chari means bicycle, so mixing it up with the Dekotora abbreviation it becomes Dekochari! Dressing up your bike into a Dekotora is just hilarious!
The soundtrack is called Ichiban-boshi Blues (by Bunta Sugawara and Kinya Aikawa) and the footage comes from a video called Dekochari Yarou.
If you thought that wasn’t funny enough, how about the Dekochari at 0:26 being driven by Daijiro Inada?
And how about another one just for the road? :P
Yes, another hilarious posting today! This picture was too funny not to post. ;)
Hello Chaser JZX100
Now that’s a Chaser that will certainly not be forgotten when it goes sideways on any circuit! :P
Found at Doritens blog about a pink meeting in March.
The Japanese food producer Hagoromo decided it should hop on the Star Wars bandwagon in the late 70s and made this commercial:
This commercial is promoting their famous Sea Chicken, which is basically just a can of tuna.
Maybe they would have sold more if they called it Star Chicken instead! ;)
Yesterday I already posted a car chase by the Abunai Deka and today I have another one! This time they swapped their regular Nissan Leopard Y31 for a second generation Pontiac Firebird Trans Am!
Now this is a perfectly good example why American cars are superior to the Japanese: you can empty your gun on a Trans Am and it will still be going as strong as when it left the Pontiac factory in the mid 70s! Now compare that to their regular Leopard: would they have survived at such an attack at all?
After four and a half minute of wrecking 20 to 30 perfectly good late 70s and early 80s Salary Men type saloons it comes to an end when the Trans Am finally escapes the junkyard. It must have been a wise choice of the director to pick the junkyard as the background of this scene: after wrecking 30 cars you can just leave them there! Saves a lot of trouble in logistics! Brilliant!
We all did it once: doing a dry drift run. I did it as well: try out that heel-to-toe technique when standing still. Do a clutch kick without the risk of damaging your clutch. Do a quick up- and downshift without the chance hearing of grinding teeth from your gearbox. A very effective and safe way of learning to know your car.
But what if you are actually on a circuit and have blown your engine to bits and still want to enjoy your car? Well, you make videos like this:
I must say this guy is quite good in mimicking the 16v 4AGE and the T50 gearshifts! It kind of reminded me of this guy imitating an “import car” with his mouth. Maybe he watched Initial D a bit too much? :P
