Yet again did Bankakuemiko post up a junkyard stroll where he investigates several junked JDM cars:
BTW: Did you notice the Nissan Cedric Y34 has a snow setting on its automatic gearbox?
Anyway, enjoy the video with many many junked cars including a Toyota Soarer Z30, Levin AE111, Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-4 and a Cedric Y34:
This year there were six hachis on the paddock! It has been doubled within only one year!
First of all Ibrahims hachi was part of the group I joined:
Next to his hachi is a yellow hachi on Victorian plates. Bozu lived in Australia for a few years and decided to ship his hachi to the Netherlands. AFAIK it has Dutch plates, but these plates were one of the coolest you can get!
Now this is obviously not the best spot to show off your kouki Corolla Levin AE86 at the JCCA New Year Meeting 2012:
Completely surrounded by seven Skyline R30s!
Yes I know: that’s a very blunt statement but as I see it there is a lot of truth in that. Apart from that it was meant to say I’m currently not hopping on the 86 bandwagon, not writing the same as thousands of bloggers out there and simply just stick to the real deal: AE86 deathrace in Hokkaido!
Incredible how wild these guys throw their hachis around the track. Insanely close guardrail slides with the occasional tip over the tirestack to keep the audience awake. Well, actually I don’t think they were sleeping at all: they are just cheering to them to go closer!
Don’t get me wrong: the 86 is definitely one of the best engineered cars and it has got beautiful styling, but it is not the AE86. It is not an entry level car, not a light weight FR and on top of it all: it is currently hyped.
First impressions are always worth most since they describe the Wangan Warriors meeting in one sentence. In this case I’d say my first impression would be that the meeting was mystifying! And yes, that is also a pun to the weather. ;)
No really it was definitely worth going! Spoke to a lot of people and seen a lot of nice cars!
Stay tuned for several features in the upcoming days.
It is always nice to see owners mix and match parts from other cars. In this case this Levin is a mix and match of a kouki Levin (eyebrows on the headlights and bumper with wrap around indicator lights) and some grille I’ve seen before…
Now where did I see that before?? Is it from another E80 Corolla? Can’t remember the E80 ever had such a grille…
Perhaps another Toyota then? So how about this wagon then?? Continue reading
