Carina Sightings: the yellow zokusha!

People knowing me well enough also know I love kaido racers/zokushas and all sorts of other bizarre creation from Japan. So I actually was quite happy to see this in one of the kaido racer videos:
Yellow Carina AA63 zokusha
Yes, that is indeed a yellow Carina AA63 with (fake?) oil cooiler up front and lowered on a set of SSR Mk II rims (or are those Techno Shadows? Can’t see it too clearly!). :)

It even gives a good welcome when arriving at the spot by doing a bit of revving: Continue reading

Auctions Yahoo: Carina GT-R AA63 tail lights

Today my RSS feed reader provided me two new lots on Auctions Yahoo and in this case it were two kouki (late type) tail lights for the Carina sedan sold for left and right seperately:
Carina GT-R AA63 tail lights for sale
The red line under the tail light was only available on the GT, GT-R, GT-T and GT-TR Carina models.

The auctions start at 5800 yen (roughly 58 euros or 74 US dollar) which a fair price for these tail lights in an (almost) immaculate condition! It is easy to get these items through man-in-the-middle companies like Hayatonka.
(do take into account local transportation costs, handling fees and shipping to your doorstep may increase the price dramatically!)

The auctions can be found here:

Unfortunately nobody sent in any comment with the location and trackname of the circuit. The offer still stands and you can send in your guesses till next week!

This week I have another Carina at a track. This time it is a familiar one and it is great to see this same red Carina AA63 compete in the NCML again!

In this video you can see it busy keeping off a bunch of Levin AE86s, a S14a and a S15: Continue reading
