Carina Sightings: 298local’s AA63

At first I thought hey, a shot of Abunai Deka with the SA60 wagon! and immediately followed by the drifting Carina. No wait! Two drifting Carinas!

The white Carina AA63 has a set of SSR Mk I rims on the rear and Mk II rims at the front. I also spotted some flashes of Ebisu North there! Looks like 298local surely had some fun there!

Carina Sightings: Carina GT-TR Dream Super Sport

Now this is the way I’d like to see people remember their Carinas: calling the Carina GT-TR a Dream Super Sport is a great homage to such a great car!

The Carina is, at first glance, bone stock except for the smoked tail-lights, SSR Formula mesh wheels and the Italvolanti Admiral steering wheel.

And I love how the owner refers to his Carina: (the) one who taught me the fun of driving

Carina Sightings: Another AA63 drift missle

Two weeks ago I posted up a relatively cheap Carina AA63 drift missile only to discover another on Auctions Yahoo two weeks later!

Its current price is 50000 yen (615 US dollars) but reserve hasn’t been met yet. At least this Carina is still in one piece so it could get a little bit more pricier than this.

The engine is quite impressive: a 4AGE 16 valve with independent throttle bodies!

To make it all work smooth a set of Toda cams, aftermarket piggyback ECU and a lightened flywheel have been installed.

Other modifications are a set of SSR Longchamp XR4s, camber plates and front tower bar and on the inside a set of Recaros to make you feel a bit more comfortable in those loooong corners:

This missile seems to be in a bit better shape than the other one, but this one has had less extensive modifications.

In case you want to bid on it, you still have five days left and can find the action here: Carina AA63 at Auctions Yahoo.
If you like something different: the seller also has a few shakotan and bosozoku style rides for sale!

Carina Sightings: Formula Meshed Carina AA63 GT-R

This is exactly what I would like my Carina to look like: a lowered AA63 with deep dish SSR Formula Mesh rims and a big front air dam!

The rims alone would set me back another 1500 euros, so I think it will be dreaming/drooling on this picture for the upcoming years… ;)

On the rear the kouki tail lights and a double exhaust tip:

And most interesting is this GT-R badge:

A red R, just as it is done on the Nissan GT-R logos. Might be an option to paint my own GT-TR badge as well. But what color should I choose for the T then?

Carina Sightings: AA63 drift missile

I found a Carina GT-R bargain on auctions yahoo: it has many modifications, RS Watanabe and Hayashi Street rims and only costs 70000 yen!

From this side it looks quite okay…

But from this angle:

It looks like sh*t!
The tail lights already have been swapped for late type tail lights and even if you are handy with a hammer and chisel you can’t make much of it anymore…

On the positive side: many modifications have been made to this car, including some nice goodies under the hood:

A tower brace, carburetors, 4-1 performance header, trunk battery, MSD ignition, high lift cams and a balanced crankshaft. Apart from that it has camberplates, a roll cage, FC Calipers, bucket seats and many more modifications!

I’d personally say the car is definitely worth it for spares if you can manage to pay the shipping costs. ;)

Carina Sightings: big spoilered and scooped Carina GT-R

Even though this Carina GT-R has the biggest spoiler I’ve seen so far (apart from the GT spoilers) and a ridiculous scoop on its bonnet it is still looking great. Must be the periodically correct wheels that match up with the spoiler and scoop.

Unfortunately the picture is too blurry to make out what these rims actually are. They look a bit like SSR Mk III rims but at the same time they could very well be SSR Star Formula or Work Excel rims…
